***Bear is part of our "Fall in Love" adoption special and his fee is waived!

Meet Bear! Bear was rescued from a shelter in AR. The vet estimated him at 5 years old but his foster mom thinks he's at least 7 years old. He looks like he's had a rough life before coming to us. He has callouses on his legs indicating he was probably living outside on rough surface. His coat was thin and patchy but has improved now that we've got him on a good diet.

Bear has been good with other dogs and is learning to live with cats as well. He's done great with kids. This boy is really just a big teddy bear.

This poor guy has been through a lot since we've had him. Bear tested positive for heartworms and started treatment, but then started having several fainting spells, so the vet felt it was best to stop the treatment as he was worried Bear's heart wouldn't be able to take it. Bear also had surgery to remove bladder stones that were obtructing him. He now is on a prescription diet to keep those from reforming, which costs approximately $85 a bag.

With our winter weather rolling in, Bear has started showing signs of arthritis. We've started him on supplements to see if that will help.

Despite all of this, he has remained and loving and loyal companion. He is looking for a special home, is that home yours?

If you aren't able to adopt, please consider a donation for his care!

Bear is being fostered in Edmond, OK.
